About The Chef
In 2012, after a 17-year career creating music for the world’s biggest brands, Chef Auria began building Auria’s Malaysian Kitchen. She offered supper club dinners out of her home, taught Malaysian cooking classes and lit up NYC street fairs with her mouthwatering Malaysian fare. In August 2013, the first batch of Hot Chilli Sambal was made. It’s a traditional slow-cooked Malaysian Sambal, made according to Auria’s mum’s recipe and flavored with fermented shrimp paste. Since then, Auria has competed on the Food Network’s Chopped, been a finalist in Martha Stewart’s American Made program, won the NYCEDC’s Fancy Food Fellowship and launched three more delectable Malaysian products. A natural-born chef, Auria takes a ton of inspiration from her mum’s modest yet splendid kitchen.
